This Terms and Conditions policy is designed to balance the educational needs of high school students with the safety and professional standards required for online learning.

Online Communications: Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By enrolling in and accessing the Online Communications course, students and their legal guardians agree to abide by the following terms. These guidelines ensure a productive, safe, and respectful digital learning environment.

2. Code of Conduct (Netiquette)

Students are expected to maintain a professional demeanor in all digital interactions.

• Respectful Dialogue: Bullying, harassment, or the use of hate speech in forums, video calls, or chats will result in immediate disciplinary action.

• Constructive Feedback: When critiquing peer work, students must remain objective and supportive.

• Appropriate Content: All shared media (images, links, or videos) must be school-appropriate and relevant to the curriculum.

3. Academic Integrity

Authenticity is the cornerstone of effective communication.

• Originality: All assignments must be the student’s own work.

• AI Policy: Unless explicitly instructed for a specific lesson, the use of generative AI to write essays or scripts is prohibited.

• Plagiarism: Proper citation is required for all external sources using MLA or APA format.

4. Privacy and Security

To protect the privacy of all participants, the following rules apply:

• Credential Safety: Students may not share login information or passwords with anyone.

• Recording Prohibitions: Students are strictly prohibited from recording, taking screenshots, or sharing images of classmates or instructors during live sessions without express written consent.

• Data Handling: Any personal data shared during class exercises must be treated as confidential.

5. Attendance and Participation

• Live Sessions: Students are expected to be on time for synchronous meetings. Cameras should be on when possible to facilitate non-verbal communication, unless a waiver has been granted.

• Deadlines: Technical issues (e.g., "my internet went out") are generally not accepted as excuses for late work unless reported to the instructor immediately via an alternative method.

6. Intellectual Property

• Course Materials: All lectures, slides, and handouts are the intellectual property of the instructor/school and may not be distributed externally.

• Student Work: By submitting assignments, students grant the instructor permission to share their work within the class context for peer review and educational modeling.

7. Cancellation Policy

Course registration fee is nonrefundable within 72 hours of the first day of class.
